2007 Tybee 500
We are doing it again this year! After 4 years, Team Accelerated Chaos is returning to the Tybee500 starting line. After months of preparation for the boat, our bodies, and coordinating the logistics of doing the race, the time is finally upon us for the race to begin. Many of the faces of the team have changed for this race. Let me take a moment to introduce you to the team…
Chris Titcomb , Co-skipper, is the returning member of the ‘on the boat' portion of the team from previous years. A 28 year old physical therapist from Boston, MA area, he has lots of experience with the boat, including much of the maintenance and previous experience skipping this beach catamaran in the 2003 Tybee500.
Tripp Bird , Co-skipper, is a college senior doing the Tybee500 for the first time this year. His sailing experience is extensive, including multiple top finishes in the F18 class. He will be starting the race with the team, but unfortunately will need to leave the race early to return to the Tulane campus for his commencement celebrations. Congratulations Tripp!
Frank Keefe , Team manager, is a veteran of the ins and outs of the Tybee-500 beach scene. Having served as a race official in 2003 he is returning this year as team manager. His role will include communicating with the race committee, transporting the trailer and spare gear up the coastline, and insuring the logistics of the race go as smoothly as possible.
Sandra Tartaglino , Beach crew and driver extraordinaire, has spent the past week transporting the boat to Florida from New England . She has lots of extreme distance racing experience and has already served as an invaluable resource in the preparation of the race.
Nate Titcomb , Web Guru, will help to keep you all updated on the progress of the race from the Internet. He will take the information he gets and post it as quickly as possible to keep you all updated on the team's progress. His presence on the boat will be dearly missed, but his skills at updating the website will surely be appreciated!
Brett Dryland , The team's secret weapon from down under, will serve as the teams ‘pusher' to get us off the beach and through the surf at the start of each leg.
Throughout the race, we hope to be able to update this website with progress reports during the days and reports from the crew in the evening. Stay tuned and thanks for your interest in Team Accelerated Chaos in the 2007 Tybee 500.
